EPoX 4PEA800 Lately, we see that a number of companies are releasing updated revisions of their best selling mainboard to support the upcoming P4 800Mhz CPUs. 4PEA800 is just one of these boards that promises support through overclocking. As we know, 845PE chipset supports Hyperthreading and DDR333 and unofficial DDR354. This definitely makes it one of the best chipset to be regarded as the low range segment once Springdale chipset mainboard appears. The EPoX 4PEA800 does aims to offer a low price solution with mininum features that is good enough to even run the future CPUs. EPoX 4PEA800 offers the standard feature set like 6-channel audio, 2 DIMM slots for expansion of memory, AGP 4x, Debug LED, USB 2.0, Overclocking features. There are external connectors on board for use with S/PDIF connectors and additional USB bracket. In fact, most of the board's features are quite standard except the BIOS which allows a wide range of voltage adjustments and FSB. CPU Vcore adjustments are necessary if you wish to overclock your CPU. The FSB range is from 90 ~ 250 at 1Mhz stepping with mutiple options to run in async mode DDR333 and unofficial DDR354. On the EPoX 4PEA800, you can select up to +0.35v of the default voltage. That is to say a possible 2.00v can be supplied to your P4 processor. AGP voltage up to +0.70v of default. e.g. up to 2.2v from 1.5v. On DIMM voltage, EPoX 4PEA800 allows you to set it up to +0.7v of default which is 3.2v. |
