Review (1)
SiS746FX
We saw the SiS 746's performance some time ago on the ECS K7S7AG
GameUnion board, today we bring you our first hand information on the long
awaited SiS 746FX chipset which promises better performance at a good
cost/performance ratio. unlike its predecessor the SIS 735 and SiS 745, it uses
a north south bridge architecture.
The SiS746FX features an AGP 8X bridge, and a DDR-400 Memory controller,
supporting AMD Athlon S2K FSB up to 333 MHz. The SiS746FX, via the
second-generation 1 GB/s Multi-threaded I/O link, interconnects the SiS963L
Media I/O that integrates one EHCI compliant USB2.0 host controller, 2 OHCI
compliant USB1.1 host controllers, the ATA-133 dual IDE controller, AC 97
V2.2 compliant audio controller, and the Ethernet MAC controller with standard
MII interfaced as shown in the diagram, the SiS746FX/ SiS963L System Block
