Conclusion As we know, SiS 755 seems to come later than most of the chipsets. This could be because SiS wanted a solution that is well optimised for performance. The performance of the SiS 755 is definitely one of the better ones. This is especially in the 3Dmark2001/2003 (D3D) tests and Quake3 (OpenGL). In terms of design, the SIS 755 NB and SB is interconnected via a 1GB/s MULTIoL and a true 800MHz, 16 bits (up/down) compared to some other implementations, Although it is not really that apparent in benchmarks, it would be a bottleneck if you are using a board with heavy I/O. SiS755/964 is the second A64 solution that supports SATA RAID 0/1/JBOD through SiS 964. With the HyperStreaming™ Engine, it optimizes the performance of the entire computer system. It smartly manage the data streaming to flow effortlessly from the peripherals to the core logic chipsets, between the North and South bridge and to the front side bus, memory and graphic interface. This greatly improves the total performance, which traditional technologies lag behind. We did not expect overclocking features on this board except the FSB. Again we are stuck at 218MHz, anything high would hang. Although the Max MEMCLK allows the board to run at a async mode, e.g. Async DDR333, it does not necessary help in terms on overclockability because the memory controller is in the CPU. It is interesting to note that the reference board didn't come with a heatsink on the NB and SB. According to SiS, it is not necessary. I touched it and I felt that it is hot but it runs well even under CAS 2, 5-2-2 settings without a hitch at all. As most traditional partners of SiS usually view SiS chipsets for low end boards and implement BIOS that can't be tuned for performance, this would greatly undermine the potential of this chipset. Lets hope that the manufacturers make a complete 3-phase design board with voltage controls and implement the necessary features to make it a feature packed board. Suggested Retail : NA Pros 好处:
