Multimedia The built in 1.3 megapixel camera can take shots at various resolutions Premium, High, Medium, Low and Wallpaper. Colour Mode can be in Normal, Greyscle, Sepia. Video Recording can be done up to 30secs for Premium mode and 12secs for MMS mode. Both camera and video mode supports the White Balance control for Auto, Indoor and Outdoor. We found the photos taken tends to be a bit too bright which can be corrected using software like Photoshop. Sharpness is all right but it tends to fade off on the corners. The camera didn't come with a White LED or Flash. Photos taken at night or Indoors tends to be noisy with bluish dots. I am not sure if that is a CMOS camera issue or it can be corrected in later firmware upgrades. Connectivity This phone has ~10.32MB of internal memory for you to keep all your videos, pictures, midi, wav ringtones. If you need more memory, you can always slot in a RS-MMC card. We used the same card on the Nokia 6600 and found it easy to transfer our WAV ringtones into the phone. If you prefer, you can still use the infra red or Bluetooth to transfer the files into the phone. One thing I like about the phone is that there is no restriction on transferring Java applications and you do not need special software to send/recv files. You can send / recv any file type you like and they will be stored into the Data Inbox which you can send to others via MMS, IrDA, email or Bluetooth. With the external RS-MMC, it is easier to manage your java applications and multimedia files. RS-MMC is beginning to be accepted as the media of choice for phones. It is still considered big if you were to compare to transflash used on the Motorola E398. Ringtones S65 comes with a very loud earpiece and it is also used as a speaker phone and playback of ringtones. You will be shocked by the strong vibration alert of the phone. You can even set the "style" on how it vibrates - Standard, Helicopter, UFO, Shock, Mosquito, Train etc. It is so loud that I have to place it to level 3/4. It is a pity that the phone does not support MP3 ringtone. If you like, you can send WAV files into the phone via Infra, Bluetooth or any other means and set it as the default ringtone. You will be shocked by the loudness of the ringtone whether it is polyphonic MIDI or WAV file. Of course, you can use the mono tones if you wish. |
