GSM 900/1800/1900 5 mpixel Camera Mobile Phone Review 3/9
Usage The phone powers up and within seconds, you will be entering the main menu. Moving around the various menus are quite straightfoward. SMS is very easy to use as well. The 5 way navigation buttons are fine but the centre button is a bit too small. It is located on the right hand side of the phone. When using T9 entry, you will have to use the up/down keys to select the possible words when entering more than two characters using T9 input method. To activate mode, just press the camera button on the side of the phone. In camera phone, there are simply too many buttons you need to remember. For example, to switch between camera and video mode, you have to press the top button (next to button "2") to switch mode. To view/browse images taken earlier, you have to press the centre button (near to button "3"). To change settings to image resolution etc, you would have to press the button next to the power on/off button. There is also a bit of lag while doing a ZOOM in using the zoom in key seen below in Fig 2. Multimedia For camera mode, there are many setttings that you would need to explore to give you the best quality image. We use the defaults and found that it took very good pictures too. Some of the adjustments include the MODE (Auto, Closeup, potrait< langscape, Sports, Dusk, ProgramAE), Flash (off,on,auto, redeye), Filter (Off,&W,Sepia, Negative), Sequence shot, Timer (3-15secs), Resolution (MMS,640x480 - 2592x1944), Quality (Normal,Fine,Superfine). To take a photo, the lens cover must be opened. Click the Camera button to AF and take the object. The lens can be rotated 180 deg for self-potrait. Flash can be turned on for dark environments.
Audio and Ringtones The ringtones are still very MIDI like but it is very loud and clear. MP3 can be used as ringtones and it is slightly softer compared to using the 64 channel polyphonic default tones.
