ABIT AT8 32X
CrossFire Mainboard Review Intro 2/5
Gallery The board comes with 2 PCI, 2x PCIe x1, 2 x PCIex16. The power on board is based on a 3 phase design. Behind the slots are I/O controller chip, audio codec and at the centre you will see the PCie based GbE controller. On the left is the ALC 882 HD audio codec. Near the Aux power connector, there are 2 SATA II ports supported by SIL 3132 controller. Further down to the left, you will see the 4 SATA II ports, 2 IDE channels supported by the ULi M1575 South Bridge. The chipset near to the CPU Socket is the ATi RD580 chipset. The RD580 chipset is channelled through the heatpipe to the rear. This greatly reduces noise and is definitely a confirmation that the chipsets do not generate lots of heat. The back panel consists of PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse, S/PDIF, 1 x1394, 1Gbe, 4 USB ports, 8ch audio ports.
