Benchmarks - XMPEG with DIVX 6.4

XMPEG is another utility which can be used with external codecs to encode mpeg1/2 videos to target format depending on which external codec is used.

In our test, we used the Xmpeg with the latest DIVX 6.4 codec. With XMEG, it is possible to set parameters of the Divx 6.4 encoder such that it will encode using the most high quality settings.

In our test, we encode a Mpeg2 transport stream (1280x544) video clip to 1080HD mode using Insane Quality.  We convert chapter 2 of the T2 Extreme edition.

Intel QX6700 only took 18 secs to complete while the X6800 took 25 secs. The QX6800 is 38% faster in encoding this HD clip to HD DIVX mode. As for the ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA, it runs 2 secs slower than the 965P board.

In another test usign the DIVX converter that comes with DIVX 6.4, we convert the file ABC.TS (1280x544) to DIVX HD. Below are the timings.
