Benchmarks USB performance and HD Tach test

As this is the first board available that uses the RD480 + SB600 pair, we tested out the performance of the South bridge IXP600 (or SB600).

Using our SATA II HDD, we ran HD-TACH for a read test and below is the result :

I would say the SATA II performance is pretty good! 48.9MB/s at a low CPU utilisation of 2%.

USB Performance

The same old Vantec mounted HDD that we used is attached to the USB port. Sandra 07 file test is run against the USB HDD and below is the result :

In fact, the USB performance is the best ! 26MB/s with our Vantec USB enclosure IDE HDD inside. Most of the USB ports give around 23-25MBps.

The early SB400,460 gave even lower figures than 20MB/s. Looks like SB600 has got it solved and fixed the performance bug.
