ECS PN2-SLI2+ Review Benchmarks - 3DMark06

Benchmarks - 3Dmark2006

Futuremark's 3Dmark 2006 is ran with the ASUS EN7900GT graphics card with Forceware 91.31. Below are the result break down.

Another observation is that, when we use DDR or DDR2, the difference is very little. Again, we see that DDR2 doesn't really bring much increase in performance on this board.

ECS PN2 SLI2+ scored almost the same as the GA-965P-DQ6 with the Gigabyte leading by around 10 points. As we have mentioned before, the VIA PT880Ultra chipset only support a 4X PCIe lane. When we pair up this board with the ASUS EN7900GT, we can immediately see the difference in performance in 3D tests.

With a check in the CPU score, we can see that the Intel QX6700 score much better than the Intel X6800. A big difference of 54% is registered.

For ECS PN2 SLI2+ + QX6700,            Score is 5549,  SM2:  2080, HDR/SM3: 2044, CPU Score : 3916
For Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6+QX6700,  Score is 5559, SM2: 2077, HDR/SM3: 2050, CPU Score : 3957
For Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6+X6800,    Score is 5323, SM2: 2086, HDR/SM3: 2048, CPU Score : 2568
For 4CoreDual-VSTA+QX6700 (DDR2), Score is 5167, SM2: 1965, HDR/SM3: 1843, CPU Score : 4010
For 4CoreDual-VSTA+QX6700 (DDR),   Score is 5154, SM2: 1964, HDR/SM3: 1842, CPU Score : 3914

It looks like the ECS PN2 SLI2+ performs just a bit better than the Gigabyte board in SM2 and losed out in HDR/SM3. The CPU score for Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 is also higher than the ECS PN2-SLI2+.
