Intel Core 2 Extreme
Quad-Core Processor QX6700
Benchmarks PCmark2005 PCmark2005 tests a number of important items in today's computing world. File Compression, Encryption, Decryption, Audio Conversion, Web Page Rendering, WMV Video Compression, DivX Video Compression, Physics Calculation and 3D, Graphics Memory etc. We first test the PCMark05 for overall score and found that the results are slightly lower on the QX6700. This could be due to reasons like a lower 3D results and due to a lower clocked CPU (The QX6700 runs at 2.66GHz while the X6800 runs at 2.93GHz). With the individual CPU test segment, we see the big difference between the two. The Intel QX6700 is 14% ahead of the X6800. Let's take a look a look at the break down of the PCMark CPU test results. It can be seen that in this detail test, the QX6700 excels in the multithreaded test 2. It is able to take advantage of 4 threads at the same time while the X6800 which is a Dual Core loses out.
