Samsung Electronics and Microsoft today launched the SGH-i320N smartphone with
Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 5.0
. Measuring only 11.5mm and weighing a mere
95g, the SGH-i320N is Asia's thinnest and lightest
QWERTY smartphone – a feature-laden powerhouse that
integrates portability with business and multimedia
functions to suit the lifestyles of consumers at
work and play.

The SGH-i320N offers the best user
customisation of any Windows Mobile smartphone available in
Singapore. Users can personalise
the user interface, menus, hard/soft keys as well as create sound themes to suit
their specific needs, making information access easier than ever before. With
Program Launcher, users can define and group
shortcuts to common applications allowing faster
access to device functions and applications.
Running on Windows Mobile 5.0 with Direct
Push technology, the SGH-i320N
instantly updates Microsoft Office Outlook Email,
Calendar, Contacts and Tasks when synchronised with Exchange Server 2003 to
ensure
that users are always up to date while on-the-move.
In addition to the Push Mail capability,
users can also view Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint
, PDF and image formats including BMP, JPEG
and GIF with Picsel Viewer.
For music enthusiasts, the
SGH-i320N powered by Windows Media Player 10 Mobile
acts as a portable music player with integrated dual stereo speakers and WOW XT
technology for an enhanced audio experience. The device also provides Bluetooth
stereo support for headsets, allowing users
to enjoy music wirelessly on the go.
SGH-i320N features a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and 2x zoom and
the ability to record video up to 320x240 resolution and easy playback with
Windows Media Player 10 Mobile with support for various formats.

Built-in Pocket MSN offers consumers the
consistent and familiar user experience that they currently enjoy with MSN
Messenger on th
eir desktops. With this
offering, users will automatically have a separate Inbox for Hotmail messages on
their device; they will also be able to view their buddy list and instantly chat
with their contacts, whenever they want and wherever they are.
Additionally,
the device comes with built in consumer applications including World Clock,
Smart Converter, Stop Watch and D-Day making it the ideal tool for use during
work or leisure time. The device also allows users to read Chinese characters.
Another unique
feature of the device is the USB mode which allows the SGH-i320N to act as an
ActiveSync client or a USB Mass Storage device
for any file
types and multimedia content.
SGH-i320N’s
expandable 120MB memory
also
allows for additional memory for storing a wide
range of content including music, games, photos and video.
The SGH-i320N
is available in
Singapore from 13 October at a recommended retail
price of $598 with a two-year plan or $698 without plan.
