ASUS P5E3 Deluxe
WIFI/AP edition Mainboard Review -
3Dmark05 and 3Dmark06 benchmark
Benchmarks - 3Dmark2005/3DMark2006
The 3 boards are paired up with a set of ASUS EH2600XT graphics card running with Catalyst 7.9. The graphics performance is tested with single card and dual card in crossFire to see if the new chipsets will bring better performance in Crossfire mode since it supports native Dual 16x instead of Dual 4x (4+16). Comparing both X38 chipset mainboard ASUS P5E3 Deluxe and Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6, we can see that the results did not differ by a lot. ASUS scored 15381 and Gigabyte scored 15379 in CrossFire test. The difference is only 2 marks. In normal single card test, the difference is larger with ASUS P5E3 Deluxe scoring 10047 vs Gigabyte's GA-X38-DQ6 at 10015. In any case, we can see that both boards based on X38 chipset scored at least 300 points better than the Gigabyte P35T-DQ6 (intel p35) running CrossFire. A check on 3Dmark06 shows a similar pattern. With a single card, the difference is just a few points. In CrossFire, the difference is around 3% with GA-X38-DQ6 with a 300 points lead over the P35T-DQ6. Next >>>
