Introduction
ECS
GeForce6100SM-M is a MicroATX budget board for building a entry level AM2
system. Despite its small form factor, it provides more than enough for users
who likes to build a HTPC for viewing of media contents.
Based on the 6100-405 chipset or commonly
known as MCP61S, it supports AMD Socket AM2 Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64 X2
Dual-Core/Athlon 64/Sempron processors with 64-bit architecture. Features 2000
MT/s HyperTransport technology and dual-channel DDR2 800 memory support.
It also comes with an embedded video that delivers reasonable display for those
who do not wish to fork out money for an external graphics card. With the on
board PCIex8 slot, you can upgrade to a full PCIe slot graphics card for game
play.
The board also comes with 2 standard SATA II
ports allows users to assign an extra disk to any RAID volume so that should a
disk failure occur NVIDIA RAID will automatically remote the failed disk and
replace it with the spare.
MediaShield
Protects and secures your digital media assets with RAID, SATA 3Gb/s,and PATA
drives.Suite of features include the MediaShield user interface, flexible RAID
configurations(RAID 0, 1), NVIDIA Disk Alert System, decicated spare disk
protection, fast media transfers.
There is also one IDE channel, Fast Ethernet and 6 channel HDA onboard.
