Benchmarks PCmark2005

PCmark2005 tests a number of important items in today's computing world. File Compression, Encryption, Decryption, Audio Conversion, Web Page Rendering, WMV Video Compression, DivX Video Compression, Physics Calculation and 3D, Graphics Memory etc.

With PCMark05, we see that the scores are a bit of different due to the different memory controller of the 4 different chipsets.

Comparing the P35T-DQ6 with the P35C-DS3R and P35-DQ6, we noticed that the P35T-DQ6 scored 7724 vs 7827 (DDR2 - P35C-DS3R) and 7620 (DDR2 - P35DQ6). As both DDR2 and DDR3 platforms are running at 1066. The major difference is the CAS latency. DDR3 are SPD at CAS 7,7-7-20 while DDR2 memory modules are run at CAS 5-7-7-24. That could explain why the DDR3 seems to be running lower than a DDR2 equivalent.
