Review Conclusion
of
ASRock P43DE Intel P43+ICH10 chipset mainboard
review Conclusion
ASRock P43DE is what has been ASRock's focus, to make cost/performance board that is affordable to all. Being a simple board, it goes back to the fundamentals. It does not come with WiFi/AP, Dual DDR2/DDR3 support or dual PCIe full length slot. What it has is a full 4 slot DDR2-1200 support, GbE, It also added in some of the newer features like Instant Boot, Extra ESD, Intelligent Energy Saver and Smart BIOS into this product. IES was first introduced on AM2 boards and it makes it's first appearance on the Intel P45 P45XE-WiFiN mainboard. This utility helps to conserve energy when the CPU is in idle state. The "Instant Boot". A look at the info sheet tells us that it is actually something to do with STR. Nevertheless, it is a good way to get instant boot (system must be on standby power) within 4 seconds to the desktop. In
terms of Performance, this board performs pretty well against the major brands
and other ASRock P45 and P43 boards we compared with. The differences is very
minimal.
In conclusion, this board serves the needs of basic desktop users pairing with Intel processor. Although it uses a P43 chipset, performance is as good as any P45 boards out in the market. The Qsound is also good if you would like to emulate surround sound using a 2 point speaker. If you need a basic board that does the work and do not o/c that much, this board is worth considering.
