The XP Version of the EeePC 900 comes with some softwares pre-installed. They are Acrobat Reader 8, Skype, StarSuite 8 etc.

Below is a screen shot of the system information. The CPU used on this machine is a Intel Celeron Mobile processor clocking at 900MHz. The unit is installed with 1 GB of DDR II of memory. We have checked with ASUS if users can upgrade that to 2GB. Here is what they say

Users can upgrade the Eee PC 900 to 2GB RAM but we do not recommend to do so. Reason being that the Eee PC 900 is a gadget which we would like users to use as what it is provided. If they really upgrade to 2GB Ram, warranty will not be void but they would need to keep the original 1GB RAM. However, our technicians do not provide service on upgrading of the RAM for the Eee PC 900.
 

The device manager gives you a bird's eye view of the devices installed. We can see that the SSD devices. The device also uses an older 915GM chipset instead of a 945GM.  The Wireless network and Fast Ethernet port uses Artheros chipsets.
