Gigabyte GA-EP45 Extreme

This is the board the other highest end board that will be showcased at the Computex Taipei 2008. The model name is Gigabyte EP45 Extreme. It features a Hybrid Silent Pipe - Efficiently remove the heat from motherboard by the Tower-like heat sink, helps to remove the heat between NB and SB area.

The board supports Intel® Core 2 Multi-Core and 45nm processors with FSB1600MHz with scalable performance with DDR2 1200 memory.

Outstanding cooling design with Pure Copper thermal design featuring Water Cooling. The 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphic interface plus PCI-E 2.0 x4 with Quad CrossFireTM support for ultimate graphics performance l

On board audio is a ALC889A codec features106 dB Signal to Noise ratio. There is a Unique Dynamic Power LED indicator design with dynamic 6-Gear switching

Advanced virtual 12 power phases design with VRD 11.1 supporting
Embedded 2 power phases for NB chipset and 2 power phases for memory to excel at power efficiency

DualBIOS™ features 2 Physical BIOS ROM gives a Double Security to the system . EP45 Extreme also comes with DEBUG LED for easy troubleshooting.

Something new is the ACPI LED. ACPI LED, end-users recognize the power status even when screen is off. It helps monitor the different system states S0, S1, S3, S4/S5 with leds on board. It also uses an Advanced 12 power phase design with VRD 11.1 support. The board also features DES Advance powered by Intersil hardware CPU power engine.

In Stealth Mode power savings, it allows users to turn on or off the Dynamic Energy Saver Utility while experiencing the hardware based energy saving benefits of DES.

The multi gear power phase switching during overclocking automatically adjusts the energy savings settings to allow power users to play, while at the same time, take advantage of DES's efficient power phase switching.
