The mainboard
The mainboard spots a smaller form factor as
compared to the previous 945GCT-D as it has now one less PCIe x1 and DIMM slot.
The
VIA VT1708 audio codec is right behind. Next to the PCI slot is the Intel ICH7
south bridge. The North bridge 945GC is fitted with a heatsink/fan while the
Intel ATOM is attached with a heatsink on the right rear of the mainboard.
Below the North bridge is a single DDR2-400/533
DIMM slot. There are also
2 SATA II ports and 1 IDE supported by the ICH7. The power connector is a 24
pin.
The backplane of the board shows the PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse ports. 1 COM, 1
D-SUB, 4 USB, 1 Fast Ethernet and 6 ch audio ports.
