ECS P45T-A Intel P45 chipset mainboard review - Introduction
Introduction
ECS, the well known manufacturer of mid range boards released it's ECS P45T-A
right after Computex Taipei. On first sight, the board is part of the Black
series which ECS is trying to promote in the past half year. They have some
success with their first Back label board, the A780GM earlier this year.
So, what does P45T-A got to offer as a mainstream product ? Will it be another
competitive cost/performance board that most users are looking for ?
The ECS P45T-A is based on the Intel P45/ICH10R chipsets. It supports the CPU
LGA775 socket for latest Intel® Yorkfield/ Wolfdale/ Conroe/Core 2 Extreme/Core
2 Quad/Core 2 Duo/ Pentium Dual Core/ Celeron Dual Core/ Celeron 4xx processor ,
FSB 1333/1066/800 MHz. Although it officially suppots the FSB 1333 CPUs, we have
no issues running the Intel QX9770 1600 Processor on it. In terms of memory, it
supports Dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture of 4 x 240-pin DDR2 DIMM socket
support up to 16GB DDR2 800/667 DDR2 SDRAM.
Other features include Realtek ALC883 7.1 Channel High Definition Audio codec
and Gigabit LAN, Atheros L1 PCIe GigaLAN controller.
The REAR PANEL I/O 1 x PS/2 keyboard & PS/2 mouse connectors
The packaging is pretty simple, it comes with a CDROM/MANUAL, 4 SATA cables, 1
IDE cable.
