HQV Test

Image quality is another factor when considering a chipset for playing back of videos, be it DVD (MPEG2), MPEG4, VC-1 on HD-DVD or Blu-Ray.

We used the professional HQV test on the board and found that the graphics display is exceptionally clear. In fact, we noticed that other than Detail Test is not as good, the rest of the test passed with flying colours. The most commendable test is the Noise Reduction test which scored a full 10 points out of 10.

The G45 showed exceptional clarity in Jaggies Pattern 1 & 2 test. In fact, we don't see much stair casing in Jaggies Pattern 2. The noise reduction is quite all right but detail test was a total flop for all the 3 platforms.
