Benchmarks - 3Dmark2005/3DMark2006

Paired with two pieces of AMD Radeon HD 4850 running in Single and CrossFire mode with Cat 8.6+patch. we tested out the Gigabyte GA-EP45 Extreme in a single and Dual 8x cross fire configuration.

In terms of single PCIe 2.0 x16 performance, the Gigabyte is somewhat slower, scoring only 18249 against the two other ASRock boards. With Dual 8x CrossFire, performance shot up to 21433. This is slightly lowre than the ASRock X48 board running in Dual 16x for CrossFire.

In 3Dmark06, single card performance is 13027 vs 13103 (ASRock P43) and 13087 (ASRock X48). In CrossFire mode, the board scored 17825, which is way better than the ASRock X48 in a dual 16x configuration.

In 3DMark vantage, the score for the Performance test is 7076. This is again lower than the two other boards. In CF mode, it scored 11612, just 100 points behind the X48 board.

Looks like synthetic benchmarks gives us just an indication on how well it performs with games. Let's take a look if the same happens.
