Memory Frequency Latch
basically sets the kind of processor you use, so that the system will allow
the various cpu:mem ratios to be made available. It is sometimes used to
deceive the chipset to think that it is running a 1600FSB CPU, so that the
1:1 ratio can be used e.g. ram running at DDR2-800 while CPU at 400MHz,
giving you more leeway to overclock the CPU beyond 500MHz x multiplier |
The MCH strap offers a range
of various CPU:MEM multipliers. A means 266MHz CPU, B means 333MHz
processor, C means 200MHz processor and D mean 400MHz processors. |
