Bluetooth 12 Sept 2008

Benchmarks

3DMark05

Using Catalyst 8.6 with latest patch, we ran the card on the ASRock Intel X48 mainboard X48TurboTwins-WiFi with a pair of Kingston DDR3-1800 running at DDR3-1600 C7-7-7-20, 2T.

One thing to note before we do the comparison. The original ATi ref design runs the CPUGLK/MEMCLK at 625/993 while the Palit HD 4850 is factory clocked at 685/1000.

In the test with Cat 8.6 on the 3 HD 4850 cards, the Palit HD4850 Sonic scored 19337. The ASUS EAH4850 scored 18969 while the PowerColor scored 19022. Looks like the default core clk at 685MHz does bring about an increase in performance of over 1.6%. The performance levels has surpassed that of a oc 9600GT and near to a 9800gx2.

3DMark06

Similarly, we used the same procedure to test out 3Dmark06. The Palit HD4850 Sonic scored 13715, that is almost 600 points higher than the reference designed cards from ASUS and PowerColor.

3DMark Vantage

In this test, the Palit HD4850 Sonic scored 7515, that is almost 400 points higher than the two other reference designed cards.
