Conclusion of VVIKOO
8800GT-MAX 1024MB GDDR3 Zalman Copper Heatsink Graphics card Review Conclusion
Early this year, we reviewed the ECS N8800GT-512X, a noiseless heatpipe design graphics card with optional fan. Vvikoo 8800GT-Max is probably one of the cards that belong to the same league, offering a noiseless 8800GT design with a Zalman copper design. If you notice, the card's SLI connector isn't the DUAL SLI connector type. Thus, it is unlikely that G92 series will be able to support 3 way SLI in the future unless it does not require a bridge but channel the control data via the PCIe bus. In terms of technology, G92 does not support DX10.1 and SM 4.1. The card is also different from ATi cards which comes with an embedded audio controller for HDMI out. If you intend to use the card as a HTPC video processor, you would need to channel the audio from your audio card to the audio pins located on the card. This card can overclock much better than the other 8800GT cards we have tested so far. In fact, we have seen that the performance levels of the 8800GT with 1 GB DDR3 can outperform the more expensive 8800GTS cards easily. In conclusion, this card is definitely well worth the money if you are looking for a gamer's card. Not only can you game with it, you can get modest performance boost to levels of 8800GTS by just increasing the GPU/MEM clks using various tools available on the net. For movie buffs, this card is also best for use with playing back HDDVD or Bluray. Just take note that if you have a small mATX casing, this card takes up 2 slots. Similar to all G92 cards, the regret is the audio, you might want to channel the audio out from your on board SPDIF to a HIFI rather than channeling it out from the HDMI. Price Pros
