Conclusion
It is no secret that Samsung has delivered some of the better
touch screen phones available in the market. Initially, it was the Omnia, then
the proprietary OS based Pixon M8800. No matter what it is, we can see that
Samsung has different phone variations that suits the different users.
We have seen the minor differences between the UltraTouch
S8300 and the Pixon M8800. Both has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you
are looking for a slim form factor and preferred a slide out keypad, the
UltraTouch S8300 is definitely the choice, but with a smaller screen size and
less digital zoom. One nice thing about Samsung phones is that it allows you to
playback the images captured or videos. It supports playback of MPEG4, WMV, DivX, XviD.
One interesting feature that we did not mention on this phone
is fake call. By pressing down the side buttons, you can simulate an incoming
call. This can come handy when dealing with those talkative people, using it as
an excuse to answer a phone call.
Overall, the phone is an all rounder just like the Pixon
M8800. The only regret would be the lack of WIFI but comes with 7.2mbps HSDPA
support. As it is based on a proprietary OS, you would also missed out the
large number of applications that are available on the InnoV8 (Symbian) or Omnia
(WM6).
Thus, if you are going for a slim, fashionable touch screen
phone, the samsung Ultra Touch S8300 is definitely the choice.
