That was a very good review. It would be great if you could compare the benchmarks of the 780G with the new Geforce 8200 chipset. And later add the 790GX and Geforce 8300 boards to the comparison.
I ask for this given that those boards are to be the next solution for HTPCs. I'm planning on building an HTPC; I took the decision to buy a Geforce discrete graphics card. What I would like to know is if I can mix an NVIDIA discrete GFX with the 780G and 790GX IGPs. Not mix as in combine performance, just use either one depending if I'm gaming or just watching a movie. But if the Geforce 8200/8300 IGP chipsets get better reviews, then I'll know what to buy.
Many reviews fail to publish the core temperatures of the chipsets as well as the overall power consumption in idle, normal and full load use. Since AMD is bragging about the low power consumption of their new boards, I just want to see how well they do against NVIDIA's.
