ATi renames 690G as ATI Radeon 2100

IN our previous report, we mentioned about the new driver. Our moderator found something unusual in the driver file.

He discovered :

"ATI Radeon HD 3850" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9505
"ATI Radeon HD 3870" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9501
"ATI Radeon 2100" = ati2mtag_RS690, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_796E

What does that mean ? RV630 chipsets will be known as Radeon HD 3850 and Radeon HD 3870 ? What happens to RV670 then? upgrade as 3950/3970 ?

Another new discovery is that the RS690 chipset, formerly known as AMD 690G is now known as ATI RADEON 2100.

Looks like ATi has some explaination to do.
