Colorful 镭风 X1650GT-GD3 performs better than 7600GT's in 3dMark05
Last week, we acquired the popular X1650GT card. It is by a company known as Colorful. As part of our ongoing review process, we put up some scoreline for you today to gauge its performance.
In the comparison, we put together X1650XT by PowerColor, 7600GT from ASUS and Colorful X1650GT. From the results, it can be seen that the X1650GT is slightly slower than its brother X1650XT but the 3Dmark05 performance is better than 7600GT. This will definitely pressure the NVIDIA camp to reduce its prices of the 7600GT, 7600GS to match the performance level of the 1650GT.
Test envionment is a X6800+2G DDR2-800. ATi card uses Catalyst 7.3 while NV 760)GT uses Forceware 93.71. Current pricing of this X1650GT in China is around USD 72.
PowerColor X1650 XT | 7729 | | PowerColor X1650 XT O/C 621/739 | 7967 | | ASUS EN7600GT | 6286 | | Colorful 镭风 X1650GT-GD3 | 6932 | | Colorful 镭风 X1650GT-GD3 OC 500/600 | 7314 |

WOW This is sweet deal then. These X1600 was way too slow, but seems the 1650 ones do improve the score a lot

Indeed. After o/c the performance is as good as a x1650XT. It killed the 7600GS and GT instantly.

It definitively make one think twice about nVidia 7600 cards They could (has to be :) ) good for my sis machine, but performance wise they are overpriced right now.
And speaking about caps, obviously the card use only 4 major caps, there 6.3V ones and one 16V one. By the design it looks like the 16V cap just filter the voltage regulated fan, while the two bellow are for VGPU voltage filtering (maybe only one are for VGPU, and one for rams?), while the last one is for ram voltage filtering. The design of the caps suggest that they might be solid polymers, so they probably last very very long. I can't read the type, so I can't comment witch caps they are
Happy, ocworkbench?
