Default ATi R600 benchmark is higher than 8800GTX watercooled

From our doggies hunting for information in the wild. They found out that the upcoming ATi R600 benchmark is higher than 8800GTX watercooled.

The comparison is done based on the ASUS EN8800GTX Aquatank we tested before which is clocked at 630/1030. In 3Dmark06, the ASUS card scored 11391.

As for the R600 which is run on a similar platform using a i965P board with X6800, it scored around 12500.

The scores of the R600 are preliminary, but it shows us that the R600 is indeed a superior DX10 card that awaits to be unveiled.

Lets wait for 14 May 2007. If nothing does wrong, we shall see them on the shelves by then.

Unofficial, but it is likely to be true. Looks like joining AMD + ATI could bring us the fastest graphic
(now just give us something that beat Conroe...)

Now if just the drivers options match nVidia and I did not complain anymore

...oh, well, and maybe they still can squeze a bit more power out of the card till the release date by optimizing the drivers and the card design itself

Default

I just hope that it won't consume too much electricity.
When we are talking abt GREEN ENVIRONMENT. card makers are wasting our energy powering up such cards.
