Default More Radeon HD2900XT benchmarks - Crysis demo and 3DMark06 again

BilgiUstam got some results for 3DMark06 and for the first time from another application: a Crysis demo. They compared the Radeon HD2900XT to a GeForce 8800GTX on the same test platform.

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800
Asus P5W DH
2×1GB PC2-6400 (5-5-5-12)
Western Digital Raptor 150

To sum it up: While the G80 card was faster in the theoretical benchmark 3DMark06, the R600XT outperformed the G80 card everytime by a slight margin in the Crysis tests.

Pretty disappointing when the R600 has 3x the number of stream processors... And is an unmanageably large card... And costs more... And generates more heat... And has anti-user video DRM lock-out. Poor ATI.

Still, I'm sure future driver versions will improve performance so I'll withold judgement for now.

Too late?

How many games with DX10 we already have?

How many of us already have Windows Vista?

The real battle of this cards will be in future, not now.

It's probably true that a large proportion of the early adopters who are willing to buy ultra-high-end graphics cards will already have bought 8800GTXs though...

Red face

ATI card win in Crisis (that matter most now), but it need much to be desired about effectivity... And DRM lock ho HD video?! Jezus, no way to waste a penny for that card.

Where to get such informations, RayvenX?
