AMD to launch 65nm BE-xxxx X2, Sempron LE-xxxx processors with TDP of 45W
It seems like AMD is going the MoTD route. The upcoming new processors for desktop are going to consume less power thus dissipate less heat. Based on a 65nm Brisbane design, these CPU has a TDP of 45W.
From what we gathered, 3 CPUs are in the plans and they are AMD Athlon BE-2300, 2350 and 2400. Their respective frequencies would be 1,9 GHz, 2,1 GHz and 2,3 GHz, similar to the current X2 3600+, 4000+ and 4400+. Noticed the new label BE-xxxx.
There will be also be 45W Semprons. They will be named as LE-1100 (1,9 GHz), LE-1150 (2,0 GHz), LE-1200 (2,1 GHz), LE-1250 (2,2 GHz), LE-1300 (2,3 GHz).
Most vendors are now busy updating their code to include the support of these upcoming new processors. We have previously reported that ASRock has updated almost all its latest series of boards to support the BE-xxxx and LE-xxxx processors.
