AMD RD790 scheduled for Mid September

According to mainboard manufacturers, the AMD RD790 will be released in mid September. Most of them are in the final stages of testing and fine tuning the boards. We should be seeing more of these boards from 1st and 2nd tier by October this year.

So, these are just going to be the 1207+ variety with AM2+ to come later?

The chipset can support both types.

You guys had a previous article saying RD790 on socket 1207+ 1st, with RD790 on AM2+ to come later. Is this still the case?

Boards might come out but you won't have CPUs to take advantage of it.

Socket 940 (AM2) will appear in SEPT too (but might not with finalised drivers).
