AMD has release a new hotfix for QuakeWars Demo. Affected games and cards include:
--Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Demo
--Radeon™ HD2900 series
--Radeon™ HD2600 series
--Radeon™ HD2400 series
--Windows Vista 32-bit Edition
--Windows XP Professional
--Windows XP Home Edition
--Windows XP Media Center Edition
In AMD's WINDOWS XP/2K and VISTA X32 driver, we noticed it is Catalyst 7.9 (non WHQL 8.4.11)!
We also noticed something interesting in the INF file.
"ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO" = ati2mtag_R600,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9400&SUBSYS_30001002
"ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO " = ati2mtag_R600, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9403
"ATI Radeon HD 2350 Series" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C3&SUBSYS_30001025
"ATI Radeon HD 2600 X2 Series" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_958A
There are new id strings for Radeon HD2350, HD2600 X2 and HD2900Pro
from the PCIID info, it seems that HD2350 should be similar to HD2400 (RV610). Could it be a lower low cost version of HD 2400 ?
As for HD2600 X2, it belongs to the RV630, but we are not sure if it is a pro or xt core.
There is also the rumoured 256 bits memory bandwidth HD 2900Pro. HD 2900Pro uses the R600 Core.
It looks like the Catalyst 7.9 should officially support all the above new cards.
