AMD Radeon HD 3870 to be priced at USD 199

According to reports on the net, the first Radeon HD 3870 cards will be priced at around USD 199. This is to be expected as it's performance would be slower than the just launched 8800GT.

Although NVIDIA has launched 8800GT, there are not enough to go around. Maybe we should call it one step ahead of paper launch with small quantities.

With AMD launching it's RV670XT (Radeon HD 3870) at 199, it will pressure NVIDIA to rehash it's pricing. At the mean time, AMD will also launch the Phenom processor and new chipsets at the same time frame.

Would you get a Phenom with NVIDIA chipset or AMD (ATi) Chipset and pair it up with Radeon HD 3870 or NVIDIA 8800GT. Isn't it obvious which gives the better value for money.
