AMD Phenom 9600 (2.3GHz) beats Intel X6800 in multimedia benchmark
AMD Phenom 9600 (2.3GHz) beats Intel X6800 in multimedia benchmark. From the chart it can be seen that the Phenom 9600, the quad core processor from AMD has outperform the X6800 which is clocked at 2.93GHz in this test. One thing we noticed is that the floating point is still much weaker on the AMD CPU as compared to the Intel Core 2 Duo.

bluetooth, I believe you're mistake there. It looks to me like Phenom beats it at float(vertical on graph), but not at int(horizontal).

Wow... 9.2GHz beats 5.86GHz, what a suprise!
Try a comparison versus a QX6800 underclocked to 2.3GHz... Or how about a more realistic, non-massively threaded comparison.

Don't forget that AMD's Quad Core 9600 will be priced as cheap as the X6800!!!! (Or E6750 now)
Yes, so i think it would be fair to compare them!

I don't know if this is praising the Phenom or not.
1) You're comparing Quad to a Dual core.
2) Intel Quad Core walked all over the Phenom 9600 like no tomorrow in that benchmark.
Poor AMD.

Of course. Intel is still the better choice. Anyway, the comparison is to show that you could benefit from a quad core over a high end dual core (in this benchmark).
