Intel G45 to offer 1.7x performance of G35

Last week we reviewed the first G35 mainboard from ASUS - ASUS P5E-VM HDMI . We have seen the power of the integrated graphics. Although the DX10 drivers are not ready yet, we see great improvement in video playback.

In Q2 2008, Intel will launch another new integrated chipset call G45. G45 targets a 3.0X the 3D performance of the Intel® G33 Express Chipset and 1.7X the 3D performance of the Intel® G35 Express chipset.

It will offer a broader DX9 game compatibility & DX10 support at launch. It will also plays HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs at full bit-rate with no additional hardware. The Integrated digital and analog display options maximize design flexibility and reduce BOM costs.

It will support all the following:
