I'm sorry, but it is wrong to say it's of Family F. It's simply and strictly of Family 10. CPU-Z's listing of these values is incorrect, or at least confusing. Since Family 10, the official definition of value "Family" is as follows. From the BIOS and Kernel Developer’s Guide (BKDG) For AMD Family 10h Processors:
Quote:
Family is an 8-bit value and is defined as:
Family[7:0] = ({0000b,BaseFamily[3:0]} + ExtendedFamily[7:0]). E.g. If BaseFamily[3:0]=Fh and ExtendedFamily[7:0]=01h, then Family[7:0]=10h. This document applies only to family 10h processors.
(The reason for this updated definition is that the original Family field in the given CPU ID register is of 4 bits, whose are maxed out with the value of hexa "F", so additional bits was needed to enable higher values.)

So, what is now listed in CPU-Z as "Family" is -- in case of Family 10 CPUs and up -- really "BaseFamily" (a 4 bit value of no interest anymore to the user), and what is listed as "Ext. Family" is the Family itself.

The definition of the Model value was also updated, in a similar fashion.

(They could save a little space listing simply Family and Model, to enable listing more info on Instruction Set enhancements..)

Okay, but perhaps we should convince them to modify their interface.
