Now with ASUS, MSI switching to the Intel Atom processor, Acer enters the gray with their own mini notebook to challenge the ASUS Eee Pc and MSI Wind.
The Aspire One will feature:
1. CPU: Intel Atom
2. OS: Customized version of certain Linux distribution (with web browser, email client and instant messaging features) and Windows XP Home Edition
3. RAM: 512MB, maximum 1G
4. Screen: 8.9", 1024x600 resolution
5. Storage: 8GB SSD or 80G 2.5" HDD, with capability of combining storage capacity of SD card and SSD via card reader (similar to JBOD)
6. Battery: 3 Cell (2200 mAh) standard, with optional 6 cell version.
7. Weight: Less than 1kg
8. Built-in 802.11 b/g wireless NIC, with optional 3.5G or WiMAX module available.
9. Colour: available in Blue, White, Coffee Gold and Pink
There is no official release date but it is rumoured to be September this year. Price would be USD399 tag.
