Intel Atom N330 slashes CPU utilisation by half playing back WMVHD 1080P clip

In our test with the ECS P45GC, we tested the same WMVHD 1080P clip "Step into liquid" using Windows media player classic. The clip plays without problem, and it took an average of around 45-50% of CPU time. On the Intel Atom N270, it took almost 95% to 100% throughout playing back the same clip.

Any chance of testing it with an 1080p H.264 mkv?

If so, then we have a good HTPC candidate, if I can find an Atom330 motherboard with DVI or HDMI output...

Indeed. it woud be best with DVI or HDMI digital out. The only problem would be the chipset. 945G isn't built to decode those properly.

It would be nice if they can come out with one using Intel G43. but that would consume a lot more power.(perhaps). Maybe a mobile version of G43 will do.
