Taiwan-based motherboard makers Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) and ASRock both saw on-month revenue growth in March, according to the two companies.
ECS has announced non-consolidated revenues of NT$5.52 billion (US$163.61 million) for March, an increase of 68.89% on month, but a drop of 10.44% on year. The company's non-consolidated revenues for the first quarter only reached NT$11.65 billion, a drop of 33.91% on year.
ECS shipped around 300,000 notebooks and 1.4-1.5 million motherboards in March.
For 2008, ECS' annual consolidated revenues reached NT$89.75 billion with the net profit after tax of NT$310 million or an EPS of NT$0.27. Although the company suffered a drop in revenues on year, the company will still distribute a dividend of NT$0.25 in cash.
ASRock has announced non-consolidated revenues of NT$746 million for March, increases of 29.28% on month and 63.08% on year, while non-consolidated revenues for the first quarter reached NT$1.82 billion, an increase of 11.89% on year.
