Still using the K7S6A with XP1700+ overclocked with Cheepoman BIOS to XP2000+ since March 2003.

But just built myself a RS482-M(ATi) and Athlon64 3700+ combo from Fry's.

I still use my K7S5A as my main machine. I use my laptop more frequently, but it's the home base. I still need to do the resistor hack to hopefully get rid of the lost bios I get if I don't use the machine more often than once a week or so.

Oh yeah, I have an Athlon XP 2100+ OC'ed to 138/138 with cheepoman (3/3/2003 I think) so it shows up as a 2200+. That is until the BIOS wigs out. Then it shows up as a 1500+ if I catch it.

Short of Linux 64 on a 393, folk are surprised to find that the K7 is still the fastest board around, in practice, by a large margin thanks to the 735 integration. It's shortcomings are now so well known, and all the fixes, patches and tweaks so well disseminated that it's worth replacing the caps when they bulge. Not only iconic, perhaps immortal?!

I still have it with Duron 1G as my third rig for my sis. Still working without major problem for 4 years.
