Just a minor problem - annoying at most - but I found the answer and thought I would share it here because this site helped me set this board up. If it has already been suggested here, please pardon this post; I didn't find it when searching.
I had noticed that when restarting Windows (as opposed to rebooting), the onboard sound (yes, I use it) would be wiped out. I found on the Windows 98 CD the MS fix for it. Never knew it was there. Fixspkr is at \tools\mtsutil\fixspkr\. It is intended for use with the Accessibility feature ToggleKeys but works here for the K7S5A, at least for Windows 98 - that's what I have loaded so far.
Now I can restart and still have onboard sound, as well as my alarm sounds for Lotus Organizer through the speaker.
Now everything works in 98 - onward to 2000
