Should be able to handle the load then.

A guy on Newegg runs it like this:

Quote:
Currently running my i7 920 at 3.20GHz with these babies at 1594Mhz (888-24)
On I7 chips, the memory controllers are built into the CPU like AMD chips. The problem could be there or it could be the Quick Path timing, I have not played around with that setting before.

I changed a bunch of hardware/ BIOS settings and I just tried IBT rndmly and LINX, and i passed both. now i'm trying to trace back my steps to figure out why I'm passing. I actually lowered my PLL voltage, cpu voltage, and raised my ich/ioh volts... maybe i changed something else as well. :)

Been three, done that. You get desperate and change so much at once, then you become lost, wondering as to what worked. Now it's back to changing things one by one.

well a while ago, i determined that the cause of a lot of my instability was using the faulty SATA cables that came with the motherboard. i replaced them and now, all of the sudden no booting problems or random BSODs.

I've found settings @ 3.8ghz that appear to be stable. I ran 20 passes of linx along with a lot of gaming and use, and no freezing so far. Anything look strange w/ these voltages? I'm trying to determine if i even need to have the IOH/ICH/CSI/pcie voltages this high...

BLCK: 181
PCI-E: 100

CPU Ratio: 21
QPI: 6.5
Uncore: 2896
DRAM: 1448mhz

Without Vdroop
CPU Voltage: 1.2625v
DRAM Voltage: 1.65v
IOH Voltage: 1.153v
VTT Voltage: 1.27v
ICH Voltage: 1.16v
IOH/CSI Voltage: 1.16v
IOH/ICH PCI-E Voltage: 1.56
CPU PLL: 1.82v

yup. Also, it seems the thermal restrictions are more strict with the last few BIOS updates, or something has gone wrong with my pc... I tried to OC to 4ghz and the pc shuts down after hovering at 77c while running linx :/ I am pretty sure I could pass linx if i could get temps lower. i am only running 1.31v in bios and i didnt get any BSOD's or freezing.

I agree. I know my quad chip will only take a lilltle over voltage before temps start shooting up. 1.31 seems to be my max and I have it liquid cooled.
