If your PC is anything like mine and runs on hope and prayers, you might want to consider switching it entirely. But for those whose rigs aren’t completely hopeless, a hard drive upgrade is one of the easiest ways to improve your PC, whether you’re looking for more storage or the speed boost an SSD provides.
Transcend’s SSD230 comes in a 2.5-inch form factor and uses 3D TLC NAND. To improve performance it also features SLC caching technology and has a DDR3 DRAM cache. It is reported to have 560MB/s Read and 450MB/s Write and that is what we’ll check on this review.Transcend’s SSD230S comes in a standard Transcend box that dons a red-white-black color scheme. The front of the box has the image of the SSD230S itself and a couple of its unique features printed on.
The back of the box, as usual, holds all the specifications of the SSD230S.
The SSD230S comes in with a lighter gray color that touches the silver boundary which is just simply elegant to look at. Upfront is a large Transcend logo printed in a dark gray color, along with prints of the SSD model and another Transcend name and logo at the upper left part. It measures 6.8mm tall and weighs 63g, so it isn’t that hard to fit into smaller devices like Ultrabooks.

Maximum sequential performance is rated at 560MB/s read and 510MB/s write, which is decent.
