I have an LG GSA-H10A, and Pioneer DVR-110D. Both read & write all formats including RAM. Previously owned an LG 4081B which also worked a treat, and are both much quieter than the Pioneer. Never compared the speeds, as they're so reliable, I just carry on about my usual business so don't pay attention to it. (I love dual core & multi RAID setups :). I also normally burn a little slower than the disc's spec to make it a 'stronger' burn.

BenQ 1620 Pro I bought about 2 years ago for $30CAD. I use BenQ 8X dvd-r's with them and they burn great.

Teac 516GD. I've been using only Teac for a few years now. The last two dvd- players/burners needed firmware writing out of the box for the DVD-r format. But work fine now.

Samsung FullHD Upscale DVD Player DVD-1080P7 Review
Old DVDs and DIVX with a new life
Did you just buy your HDTV Ready and was thinking of dumping those old collections of DVD and DiVX movies. You tried playing them back using your conventional DVD player with Component video and was disappointed by the video quality.
Well don't despair as Samsung DVD-1080P7 is a full scaler which will help to upscale your conventional DVDs for full screen display without compromising the image quality for a display up to 1920x1080 pixel (1080p).
With a HDMI interface, you can save all the simply connect it up to the HDTV using HDMI cable instead of using component cables or composite video. There is also a optical audio out port and a S-Video port available on the 1080P7.
In the following pages, we take a look at the interface and we check out if it really helps by playing back DVD and DIVX titles.
