ASROCK K8NF4G-SATA2 BIOS question

Hi,

Is the BIOS chip the same thing as the CMOS chip? Is it replaceable without difficulty? If the PC is left off for a few days it goes into a loop at start up just saying press F2 for BIOS setup or F11 for Boot Options. The CMOS battery has been changed and it worked for a while, stopped working again last night. Tried another new battery with no luck but when I cleared the CMOS it started working again. I'm wondering if the CMOS is going faulty.
