ASRock Z77 Extreme6 RAM selection

Why is the RAM selectoin for this board so odd?
What i mean is they support nearly every variation of Gskill 1gp-4gb sticks of ram. So i could get 4x4gb for 16gb of ram and it is on the list.

however the 8gb sticks are VERY limited on choices, and if i only want 2x8gb i only have one choice per their approved RAM sheet..

Is anyone running 8gb sticks of ram in this board from Crucial or Gskill?

I just can't imagine why 4x4Gb Ripjaws will work but 2x8Gb Ripjaws won't...

I was looking forward to this board but if it only supports 8 modesl of 8Gb sticks of memory i'll have to pass on it...especially since 4 of the models are $400+ because they are 32gb sets...
