Guys,

I've had a couple of problems over the last few days with the above protein.

On Wednesday night the client stopped, but DFGUi continued to think that it was running.

Last night both the Client and DFGUi stopped and terminated. Now I've restarted, it's returned to Generation 0. Any ideas?

Whenever something like this happens, first check error.log - it is usually a good indicative of what is going on.

Please post your error.log here, so that we can try to see what/why are those errors happening.

First error is probably just something minor, but the second is more serious, and generally connected with marginaly stable system.

You've been doing very well in the past few weeks, btw!

Sometimes the Client dies/stops with no warning..it is very rare these days..I have found it occurs when it reaches structure 96-100 and starts doing the minimizing calculations :(

Yep, this is usually the most stressful calculations on your cpu...You might want to try bumping the vcore just a tad bit more to ensure stability during this time.

Error log doesn't seem to show anything untoward:

Had a power blackout just when filelist.txt was being written..bye bye 130 Gens

Thank you to the State Power Company for stealing all the funds normally spent on line maintainence so your mates can have holidays overseas and big cars

My Duallie is sdtill having lockup issues so running it Offline to see if it is stable with no Net connection. That will rule out hackers downing the system or some Network issue borking the OS every once is a while

Looks like I may need to reinstall every Boxen with Win 2 K to eradicate a backdoor on my Network :(

I've found that Norton Protected RecycleBin keeps the old filelist.txt files that are overwritten....Twice now, I've been able to recover an old filelist.txt from the NAV recycle bin and continue folding without problems...It's part of NAV2003 :D

I did not know NAV had that feature, thought only the Utility & Tools Apps they sold had it...may be a good reason to get it

That is one good reason for Norton protected recycle bin. Normally when you delete a file, it goes into your recycle bin, but only if you delete it. The protected recycle bin keeps copies of all files that get over written or modified. And will keep them till you purge them, or when it is set to purge them, usually 7 days, or whatever you set it to.

On the other hand, I am having problems with my P4. I usually always have 2 instances of DF running, but still use it for web surfing.

Since I installed SP2, sometimes while websurfing, it will freeze sometimes for 2 minutes, before it starts doing anything, and IE6 seems to lock, and quit responding quite often.

I don't know if it is a web site trying to do something it shouldn't, and the protected memory areas now or what, trying to track it down.

I am definately having issues with my new board, the Intel Raid already died and has issues, and switching to the SiL controller, is alot slower, even slower than the SiL controller on my 754 board with the same drives.
