I am ready to retire my trusty PCI Geforce 2 MX440 finally. I think I'm going to buy BFG Tech's Geforce 5600 256MB AGP 8X. I work at a retail computer store and get a good discount ;)
But first I want to make sure I'm correct in assuming it will work with my K7S5A. In the K7S5A manual it states the board has one AGP4X slot for a 2.0-compliant interface. Copied directly from BMG's site it says the features of the card include "AGP 8X (compatible with 4X AGP 2.0 compliant slots)". So I am assuming that the card will work with my 4X agp slot?!?!
Here is the link to the website: Asylum FX5600
Also what is the difference between the Ultra and non Ultra FX cards? Also has anyone else installed this card on a K7S5A yet and did you have any problems? Thanks guys.

Have a look into your manual and check if your AGP-slot is 2.0-compliant , then you should have no problems ...
But why do you wanna get such an earcracker ? ;)
Better spend the money on a Radeon 9500Pro with 128MB , faster and much more quiet ;)

it should work fine as i've just installed a 5200, it's a very cheap card and had no probs whatsoever (rare i think in the computer world, i still can't quite believe it)
its extremely overclockable (mem speed clocked from 400 to 600)

I'll second that... Get a Rad 9500pro while yous still can. The 9600pro is gonna be the only thing soon, and it performs worse...
Noooooooo... FXFlow=Evil... GeforceFX=Crap...

Yes. Wich it is debatable if FX-5600 really is, at least with the current drivers wich seem to run just about everything a bit below DX9 specs.
Just make sure to get a R9500pro anyhow, the 9500 non-pro is that much slower.

How is the compatibility of the drivers with games? I'm not concerned with specs. I want to have a card that can actually be able to play games. I have previously owned 2 different Ati cards in the past which where unable to display games correctly. I went to Nvidia cards and since have never had any trouble getting a game to run and at least display properly. Honestly I am unhappy with my past experiences with Ati. I have not used any Radean card yet, so I would not know how these cards react while playing games. A card may be fast, but if it can't render graphics right then its no good to me.

Yes, ATI sucked in the past. But they have steadily improved over the last couple of years and are now in level with nVidia. If not better, because all ATI drivers are Microsoft WHQL certified, wich few of nVidias releases ever are. Does help with system stability sometimes. I don't have more problems than nVidia users with my games either. And I get more performance and better image quality for the money too. Image quality gets quite important after you've gotten used to a high level.
