Just a hello message.

I've ordered an Asrock K7S8XE+ in order to replace a PCCHIPS Tidalwave W30. The W30 has the same chipset, north and south, however it has NO overclocking functions, and more importantly, it doesn't have memory timings nor fastwrites for agp. The W30 was virtually unsupported, and therefore it's for sale on ebay and I'm expecting my new asrock by the end of the week.

I've been reading with interest how the lower numbered bios is the fastest, yet the higher one's have "fixes" for ATI's 9800 series agp cards. Don't quite understand what that is about. Mine is a 9800 Pro.

Seems like a reasonable & sensible choice to me... Asrock boards have proven to be reliable and relatively good overclockers, considering their market segment. Welcome to OCW and feel free to step over to our ASRock sector if you need any advice about your new board [img]smile.gif[/img]

I should amend my original statement re: the W30. FSB can be adjusted in 1mhz increments, which is good, yet with a locked multiplier/vcore/etc...

Well, it was just too annoying.

Either it sells on ebay, or I'll upgrade my mothers system with it.
